Storytelling: Translate and Transfer

At our June live event at Hotel Brighton, Sandy McDonald - The Story Whisperer talked about how Story plays an integral part in your brand, delivery, and reach.

Sandy spoke about, “If you can’t tell your story, you won't attract those who need your services & would love to support what you’re doing—your potential followers, clients, partners and investors. Storytelling informs your most powerful communication, because it runs deep - it educates, resonates and it sticks. Humans NEED to hear stories and share stories”.

At YTM we also believe Your Story needs to be first retold to Yourself, to ensure that the problem-solving experience and technical expertise you bring to the table is both:

  • Translatable i.e., clearly understood by others (clients, networks, referrers, collaborators) who can then see the

  • Transferability of how you go about what you do i.e., positive change through creating value and impact, but always expressed in the language of the client you serve.

At the June event we also launched and played the “YTM Conversations Count” board game which allowed players to “roll the dice” and answer questions (on cards) through story permitting others an opportunity to learn way more about you and why you do what you do!

In July, the telling stories theme continues at the when 7 speakers will use their story telling skills and compete for the annual “YTM Why Award”

Please ensure you book your ticket to this in-person dinner event on July 26th at the Deck Brighton. before 18 July, for catering purposes.
