GIVING BACK

anything is possible with a supportive network

At YTM, we believe that networking is a powerful way to positively impact the lives of others, personally and professionally.

When business owners and professionals have support, confidence, skills, knowledge, and economic security, the flow-on effect is transformational, both for the individual, their families, and society as a whole.

We make it part of our YTM business to create awareness of organisations who share a similar vision to support to those who think and work to influence change beyond themselves.

Through our community, you will meet, hear and be introduced to people who strive to contribute to others.

Our support for Fitted for Work and Chatty Café aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  1. Gender Equality (Goal 5): FFW's work in helping women gain employment contributes significantly to achieving gender equality.

  2. Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8): Through supporting FFW, we contribute to providing fair and fulfilling employment opportunities.

  3. Reduced Inequalities (Goal 10): Both FFW and Chatty Café work towards reducing inequalities by empowering marginalized groups and fostering inclusive communities.

  4. Good Health and Well-being (Goal 3): Chatty Café’s initiative to combat loneliness directly contributes to the mental and emotional well-being of individuals.

Contributing to Global Goals - Driving change towards global sustainability goals

Our focus in 2024 is to use the YTM Ripple Fund to support the following organizations who are making a difference.

  • Fitted for Work: Empowering Women in the Workforce

Fitted for Work (FFW) is a remarkable initiative aimed at assisting women, particularly those from diverse or international backgrounds, to secure employment that matches their skills and qualifications. We understand that "who you know" can be as important as "what you know" when seeking employment. YTM opens its network to connect FFW with opportunities across Australia, helping transform the lives of these women. Leigh Powell, a mentor for FFW, and Kerryn Powell, through her podcast and events, actively promote FFW's mission.

The old adage of “not what you know” but “who you know”  certainly applies to networking.  Many people are not fortunate to have a network or  know how to tap into a network when seeking employment. This is certainly the case for many of the women at Fitted for Work who often come from other countries, and need help to find work that matches their skills and qualifications.

Your Time Matters helps where possible to open up our network and connect Fitted For Work with opportunities that may help transform the lives of the women they assist in various locations across Australia.

Leigh Powell is a Mentor for FFW, talk to him about the various ways you can assist them,  as the skill sets and needs of the women seeking employment are varied . (www.fittedforwork.org.) and Kerryn Powell has spoken with and invited Managing Director, Donna de Zwart to engage through her podcast and also a YTM events on several occasions.

In 2021 and 2022, YTM Ripple provided funding towards the FFW Mentoring programs.

  • Chatty Café: Combating Loneliness and Fostering Connections

Glenys Reid, Managing Director of ChattyCafeAustralia.org.au. An organisation created to provide much needed opportunities to connect and show kindness to others.

The Chatty Cafe Scheme aims to get people chatting to build and encourage social connections within the local community, and to help reduce social isolation and loneliness. Keeping Your Community Connected!fe Australia.org

Alongside FFW, we also support Chatty Café, an initiative designed to combat loneliness and foster social connections. Chatty Café creates spaces where people can come together for conversation, creating a sense of community and belonging. This aligns perfectly with YTM's ethos of building meaningful relationships through conversation.

Background to The YTM Ripple Grant

At the YTM Why Dinner event on 31 August, 2021 YTM announced the launch of the “YTM Ripple”.

The YTM Ripple Grant funding is designed to support both not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, who seek to make an impact beyond themselves.

We are committed to supporting business owners, charities, and associations through direct donations, professional and business mentoring, connection with like-minded individuals, and promotion and partnership in their cause.
