How to become a better problem solver in 2022

The ability to reframe what you hear, either through conversations, workshops or even podcasts, and being able to apply the knowledge and experience of others, to your own needs is a skill that is worth the investment of your time.

I thought I would have a go at framing what I learned at the LIVE business event we held at YTM last night. Maria Simonelli, a creative catalyst shared a rich and valuable insight entitled “How to become a better problem solver in 2022” and reboot your thinking for 2022. The session attracted 32 business owners keen to reconnect and rekindle relationships over dinner, and learn some of the science behind creativity and how you can apply it to your business, and lifestyle.

I do this framing both in the context of:

  • how I do operate now

  • will continue to go about things

  • how I would encourage clients to go about things.

So here goes,

1+1=3:

  • Collaboration, ideation, problem solving with diverse views from likeminded others will likely unearth new ways to solve problems for self and for clients, improve propositions and customer experience (CX)

Shower with a friend!:

  • Your other self I mean….often when breaking routine, taking a moment, ideas and solutions find their way into your conscious. Create space and time for these ideas to percolate. Its not brainstorm, it’s a safe place to listen to yourself.

Manifest:

  • Think, imagine what the idea or solved problem looks and feels like. Do this by developing a mindset that this state now exists. Our YTM Partner and member Sue Glasser had additional insights to share on this topic.

  • This could be revenue target, new ideal client, number of clients to make your business viable, investing your time and experience in helping others thrive, moving to a 3-day work week, collaborating with others so 1+1+1=5……..

  • Go forth and fertilise.

Permission:

  • To not fill your diary with operational tasks

  • To Say No

  • To focus on OUTPUTS not inputs

  • To daydream, think, shower, ideate, manifest and

  • See this think-time as legitimate as working IN your business

Nurture:

  • You

  • Your clients

  • Your collaborators

Curiosity:

  • Be Brave: truly engage your existing and prospective clients by asking open and different questions to uncover their real needs.

Of course much of this is the reason YTM exists. We bring together diverse minds to have meaningful conversations that drive business opportunities and create “matches” and “magic” that provide growth and fulfillment.
